School Board Watch

Visit this page to learn about elements of Christian nationalism that emerge in our public school systems.

Hoosiers United is always looking for volunteers who live in the appropriate school districts to attend school board meetings, review school board meeting documents/agendas, etc., and attend school board meetings to alert Hoosiers United about possible concerns. Our Indiana school boards are an asset to our communities, families, and most importantly our children. We advocate for our school boards to resist implementing religious authoritarianism into their curriculum.

Resources and strategies for school board watch

Indiana School Board Associations

This is a good resource to understand how our school boards work for Indiana residents. “The Indiana School Boards Association (ISBA) is proud to serve school boards and school board members with professional learning, policy development, advocacy, and trusted legal guidance. We support school leaders in the pursuit of highly effective governance and quality student achievement outcomes.”

Secular Education Association

Secular Education Association has been doing great work identifying Release Time for Religious Instruction (RTRI) in our school systems. LifeWise is one of the largest organizations and most successful at convincing school systems to allow RTRI. To learn more, visit the link below.
