The Seven Mountains Mandate is a plan for a certain version of Christianity to gain supremacy over American society in violation of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. Although the seven mountains concept surfaced in 1975, the idea of dominion has its roots in the white Christian supremacy of the KKK more than a century ago. The Seven Mountains Mandate languished in obscurity until the 21st century but has gained tremendous momentum during the Trump era.
This concept is closely aligned with white Christian nationalism, which is a religious/political movement of believers from charismatic, primarily non-denominational churches that intend to expand the influence and control of their authoritarian Christian dogma to all areas of American culture.
The seven mountains to be subject to the dominion of the white Christian right are: the media, business, education, government, families, religion and the arts and entertainment.
Christian nationalism is a political movement that draws on deep American roots of white Protestant culture and particular Christian identities. It has risen to controlling power in both Indiana and the federal government behind a half-century strategy that brought together intellectuals, pastors and wealthy donors. While there are numerous, even conflicting, agendas within the movement, it has made many major changes in our society in the past generation. These include banning abortions, diverting funds from public schools to private church schools, supporting Project 2025, and rejecting science in such fields as medicine and climate.
The seven mountains concept is tied to the New Apostolic Reformation. Ultimately, the goal is for the United States to be an officially and functionally Christian nation — with Christian principles and policies defined by self-proclaimed prophets and their wealthy funders. The traditional wall of separation between church and state would be demolished — along with traditional American republican democracy.

Below are two blog posts from Heather Cox Richardson exposing our nation’s leaders of openly supporting Christian nationalism.
The first post (12/21/2025) discusses the history of the 1st amendment. This post was prompted by Vice President J.D. Vance Speaking at Turning Point USA’s annual “AmericaFest” conference on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
The second post (12/27/2025) argues that “The Framers of the Constitution established the United States of America on the rule of law, rejecting any religious qualifications for office or religious legal doctrine.” The president openly rejected the Constitution in favor of Christian nationalism authoritarianism.
