Definition:
Dominion over the media means founding or buying news media outlets to present a Christian message in place of what adherents believe is demonic propaganda coming from secular sources. According to author Matthew Boedy, adherents worry that secular sources use “science, reason and facts to speak authoritatively about the reality of the world, effectively replacing religious truth tellers with media voices.” Since the Federal Communications Commission Fairness Doctrine was repealed in 1987, Fox News, Salem News Network and Sinclair Broadcasting have become strong players in popularizing “conservative” opinions and beliefs.
